Our sweet One Home Stay in Munduk

A home stay where we had the whole upstairs

with a little sitting area and Ilo-Ilo, the woman of the house

and the incredible view from our deck

and our little bed

outside sitting area

and the bathroom (traditional Bali style, but *with* hot water!)  Pour that bucket of water to flush the toilet and pour another bucket of water over your head for your shower!

Gomang at the internet cafe - the wizard of spicelink.net

Across the street from One Home Stay is a great internet cafe

established by Gomang, shown here with Rowan on the roof of the cafe

where we Sebastian from Germany, who is on sabbatical from a marketing job, which is waiting for one year for him to see the world and then will still be there for him!.  Shown here with Rowan and Gomang

and here, only a few of the beautiful flowers tha Gomang grows on the roof of the internet cafe, right outisde his house.  People ask Gomang why he doesn't set up a homestay, and he says because he does not want to compete with pther members of his community!  Enjoy!

On a trip into the center of Bali

At the recommendation of our landlord, Gil, we went on a wonderful trip by taxi to Munduk.  On the road, beautiful little things

like a lunch in Pachung, overlooking the mountainous ricefields of the interior

a small fountain at a strawberry sales point in Bedugul

and a character in a temple in Bedugul

Random shots in our little part of Bali

Out on a photo safari on the beach, you just encounter a beautiful big temple

and when you wonder how to get home, you see beautiful reflections on a house on the way home

and you look at the beginning of the sunset on "your" beach

and then you get to watch the sun set as you eat dinner at "your" warung.

It is all good.  We put so many kilometers on the van in Australia, it just feels good to rest and relax here in our little part of Bali, a gentle country where people smile and have fun.  Everyone smiles.  Life is good.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

We are now in Bali at the eco-house, Villa Sementara, which means "In the Moment," and is made entirely of bamboo...

...ensconced in our own bedroom that complete with ceiling, floor and...

...three-quarter walls.  Teehee.

There are no windows here. The beautiful breezes waft in throughout the day, which means mosquito netting to keep out the night life.

We hear the sound of the ocean in the distance and look out on a very sweet organic garden, and...

...have duck eggs for breakfast with the owner, Gil, who was a sea captain before battening down his hatches here. Basically we're doing the same thing here as we did back home: Walk, sleep, and watch The Daily Show and Real Time with Bill Maher on the big screen downstairs.

 Except we're in Bali! Ahh...
