This is how much extra we saw

the beautiful northern coast of Corsica, from the train between Calvi and L'Ile-Rousse, on the way to Bastia.

Oh! It turned out much better!

We got to sleep on the ferry in a "Top Class(!)" cabin overnight before it left for Calvi, a different part of Corsica, which we never would have otherwise seen on this trip.  Serendipity - and one of the very few times when our plans have gone awry -- and it all turned out much better!  Here we are in our cabin after a good night's sleep.

 

Oops - that was our ferry! Wait!

It's 1:55, and the scheduled departure time was 2:15.  Eek!  We were supposed to go from Nice to Bastia, on the island of Corsica, during the afternoon and then spend five days in a Best Western Hotel.  The best-laid plans of mice and men...  That was not to be.  But better things were...
